Theatre Projects Consultants, Inc.
Theatre Projects Consultants, Inc. (TPC) is an
international team of theatre designers, planners,
arts administrators and technical systems experts
who collectively offer a comprehensive approach
to performance space consulting. Theatre Projects
is dedicated to the creation of buildings in which
audience members join performers in celebrating
the performing arts.
TPC has worked closely with architect Cesar Pelli
on the design concept for the Schuster Centers
theatre and all the back stage areas. This includes
the programming of the spaces and theatre planning.
TPC also designed and specified the stage equipment,
such as the stage rigging, drapery, lighting and
sound systems, orchestra shell and orchestra pit
machinery. According to Project Manager Gene Leitermann,
one unique aspect of the Schuster Centers
development is the advanced accessibility planning
that Cesar Pelli and Theatre Projects were able
to incorporate into the auditorium design.
The year 2002 marks TPCs 45th anniversary
as one of the world's leading theatre design consulting
firms. Established by Richard Pilbrow in 1957,
Theatre Projects has provided creative design
solutions, technical innovation and expertise
to more than 800 projects in 40 countries. Currently
there are offices in South Norwalk, Connecticut;
